Books about unrequited gay love / dealing with breakup

I love Bret Easton Ellis, Ottessa Moshfegh and Joan Didion and am drawn to minimal, sparse prose that often deal with numbness and disconnect. I’m not too fond of overly sentimental or flowery language. Going through a 10 year relationship breakup and books are about the only thing that break through, so hopefully someone has some good recommendations. Thanks 🙂
