I always have a knack for short stories. Maybe because I am an impatient reader.
I am currently reading Selected Stories from Alice Munro and the stories really captivates me.
I have also read some from Roald Dahl (Henry Sugar, etc.). I’ve tried Russian short stories and find that while a handful of them are really great (The nose, master of man, etc.), it’s hard to really filter out the goods one from the many many mediocre ones. The book “A swim in a pond in the rain” was also a great read that picked out some of the best Russian stories.
Another that I really dug was Agatha Christie’s short Poirot stories.
Anything else in this vein?
