What are your favorite contemporary japanese authors?

I used to be a big big Haruki Murakami fan when i was a teenager and I've been wanting to explore more of what the japanese literary landscape has to offer. I've also read a few Banana Yoshimoto novels and enjoyed them, even though i think her books can be hit or miss.
Any suggestions?
