I’m looking for books that deal with characters/situations that seem like they are living their best life on the outside while something dark is really happening beneath the shiny exterior.
An example of the vibe I’m going for is Social Creature by Tara Isabella Burton. The main character lives a wealthy and glamorous life in NYC but not all is what it seems. There’s lot of imagery of lavish parties and extravagance but then there’s dark and shocking things that happen.
Bunny is another good example of a book I enjoyed sort of like this. I’m also reading A Touch of Jen now by Beth Morgan and enjoying it.
Any recommendations for this type of glamorous but dark vibe? I hope you’re all having a great day! 🙂
