Bird of Paradise by Oliver K. Langmead. not necessarily a romance but that aspect of it made me cry

If you haven’t already, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo does this particularly well without being very long. I was very hesitant to read it because it was a “Tik Tok” book, and I do NOT trust those, but I acquired it for free and read it in 2 days. It was a captivating, fast read with a lot of emotions.
If you’re looking for something a bit more “underground” I’d recommend some nonfiction reads. They aren’t love stories but they definitely carried a lot more weight for me because they were REAL human stories. A few I might recommend for emotional reads are Evicted by Matthew Desmond and Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher.

It’s about a platonic friendship during WWII, but Code Name Verity is amazing and I don’t think anyone can read it without crying
