Looking for manga suggestions

I’m not a manga reader, so I’m looking for suggestions.

I like to read philosophy, Greek mythology, Cormac McCarthy, Jeff Vandermeer, Donna Tart. I’m also reading Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. The manga I’ve read and loved are Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo, Frankenstein by Junji Ito.

I’m open to anything except minors being drawn as eye candy.
