I love reading scaryish books in the fall, but I’m also a fraidy cat, so want it to be fun and eerie but not deeply horrifying. Think Stars Hollow with witches. Fall vibes, some supernatural elements, maybe some romance but not tons of gore and terror and everyone dies.

The Nora Robert’s Blood Brothers trilogy is a good example, or Ammie Come Home by Barbara Michaels. Just read Rivers of London and that was about right, too, but looking for something a bit cozier for fall.

Not a huge YA or YA adjacent (Maas et al) fan.

Rachel Harrison! Cackle or Such Sharp Teeth! They’re horror… kind of. They’re deeper than they seem, but are light, fun, fall reads! I’ve enjoyed both!
