English is not my first language but I am not too bad. I have read a few books in the past but couldn't develop reading as a hobby. But I want to.
I want recommendations for books which are highly gripping, easy to read and not too lengthy so that I can enjoy those books and I finish them.

My personal favorite: Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov. Its old so you can find a cheap copy for between $1 and $4 dollars, also it is a science fiction murder mystery.
You should check out “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It’s a short, easy read about a shepherd’s adventure to find treasure, but it’s really about following your dreams and discovering your true self. It’s super inspiring and hard to put down. Perfect if you want something gripping and uplifting!
