Hey everyone! Just found this sub, hoping y’all can help out.

My dad watches a lot of tv/movies and has expressed that he wants to watch less tv and get into reading, but he’s never really found a book that grabbed his attention. So, I’d like to try to find him something that aligns with his interests and can get him into reading!

He’s a huge fan of sci-fi, some of his favorites are Star Gate (easily tops the list, he’s watched every series and movie), Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, the 100, Terra Nova, Foundation, both Quantum Leap series, I Robot, Looper, and Harsh Realm (he’s one of like five people that watched it before it got cancelled). He’s really been into the Dark Matter show lately too (and coincidentally also liked that older Dark Matter show from Canada). He is into time travel stuff as long as it isn’t too absurd, and it seems he likes different takes on how it might work, like Butterfly Effect vs. Tenant.

Additionally, he doesn’t appreciate foul language and sexual content; he’s more lenient on violence but still doesn’t like it extremely graphic.

TL;DR: I’d really appreciate any recommendations for a book that would fit the following:

    1. Beginner-friendly, not a difficult read
    2. Distinctly sci-fi
    3. Rated PG-13 at most

    Thanks for reading! 📖
