Looking for books with a heavy direct/indirect influence from Native American/African religion/myth

EDIT: West African, adding Caribbean

Preferably intermingled with a contemporary element like Percy Jackson, American Gods (haven’t read Anansi Boys yet). I love these kinda books, but maybe I’m looking in the wrong places. Thanks!
