For fans of Stephan King I highly recommend Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant. It's a horror book about killer mermaids.
For fans of the Hunger Games I recommend Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler which is a book that I think everyone should read.
For fans of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare I highly recommend the Incryptid series by Seanan McGuire. The first book is Discount Armageddon.
