I’m currently reading Crazy Rich Asians after only ever seeing the movie. I love the movie and was sad when I learned that they aren’t doing the sequels. So, I finally decided to see what how it ends. I’m about half way through and notice so many changes that I feel like take a different tone than the movie.
What’s a book that felt different than its movie/series counterpart to you?

Loosest adaptations i can think of right now are Annihilation and Serpent and the Rainbow
Almost anything by Philip K Dick, and about half the movies based on Steven King books.
The Maze Runner movies don’t follow the books at all since the second one
*I Am Legend* by Richard Matheson. It had three movie adaptations – *The Last Man on Earth*, *The Omega Man*, and *I Am Legend*. The first one is the most accurate while the other two diverge a lot.
