Because of realizing I'm transgender (MtF) in the last year I’ve developed a vested interest in learning more about what defines identity and how the physical body relates to one’s existence as a person. Specific questions include
1) What actually is identity? Like what am I looking for to determine or decide my identity?
2) is identity innate and determined individually or does it only exist from what others see?
3) is existence tied to a physical body or is there some level besides that?
Obviously I won't expect definitive answers from any book but just reading what some of the thoughts are might help.
