Can be friends with benefits (and genuine intimacy), a primarily intellectual relationship with some kind of intimacy, it can be deeply romantic but in a non-monogamous or RA way, or about intimacy as a concept to explore in general in some way. I just want to read about intimacy but in non-traditional ways of conveying it.

John O’Brien’s ‘Leaving Las Vegas’
The Merry Gentry series is about a Fae princess who gains metaphysical energy through sex so she ends up poly with a dozen people.
Intimacy is not the forefront of the text, but I think of the relationship between characters in Ursula LeGuin’s {{The Dispossessed}} and {{The Left Hand of Darkness}}. Radically different stories and characters, but intimacy yes.
A recent one but Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
