I am a non-English speaker. I wish to write a fantasy novel in english. So I'm trying to understand the genre beyond my current understanding and I need your help. Also i specifically want novels before 2k because I personally feel that the novels of those time period captured the essence of the genre perfectly. Thanks in advance.

The Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms books have many, many books, trilogies, longer sets. My favorite were the Dark Elf trilogy (and it’s following sets) by R.A. Salvatore
