Should I read Homer before reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt .

No Spoilers Please!
Now I wanted to read TSH, though I don’t have much idea on what the book is about except that it’s a Dark Academia story with mystery elements to it, and that lot of people that love the book are also fan of Greek culture/myth. I find myself enjoying the book a lot if I know the background to it, so would you folk suggest that I read Illiad and The Odyssey first? Are there any other ancillary reading that you’d suggest?
