Hi! Can anyone recommend any smart love stories (short stories) that aren't total bummers? Love broadly construed–romances, crushes, sexuality, friendships, family, agape, etc.
All of the sophisticated short stories I'm finding are about hard topics, like breakups and divorce and infidelity.
(No disrespect to Lahiri's "A Temporary Matter" or Carver's "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love"! Great stories! Just sad.)
Especially interested in stories by queer or non-white authors! Any suggestions for titles or authors, please? Thanks, all!
