    Hi everyone!

I am interested in reading up on feminist literature and getting recommendations for some of the best books on the topic. I'm a bit lost here and don't know where to even begin.

I considered joining a feminist book club, but I don’t want to intrude on a safe space for women to discuss these issues. I figured reading on my own would be a better approach.

I try extremely hard to educate myself on the perspectives of others so I can better understand and empathize with people. I am looking to learn and understand the struggles that women face today. I’m a guy. I can (and do) sympathize with women’s struggles, but I also believe that you can’t truly understand what others experience unless you take the time to listen and learn. I recently read books about the "Black experience" in America. They were heartbreaking and I felt that I learned a lot about a perspective different from my own.

I’ve always considered myself an ally of women and would count myself as a feminist. But I want to learn more and read some of the powerful books that effectively communicate the struggles that women experience. I think conversations about this are great, but I just want to absorb and listen without interjecting, if that makes sense.

I would genuinely love to get book recommendations that resonated with you and that I could read and learn from.

I’d also appreciate just a bit of information about the books you suggest, like: “Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is set in Victorian England and explores a story where Elizabeth Bennet navigates societal expectations, family pressures, and her own prejudices in her pursuit of love,” or “Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is a great book that deals with themes like pride, class, and the transformative power of affection in a setting where expectations drive what is considered proper, even if it isn’t healthy.”

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to your suggestions!

Also, I have no idea what to flair this post, lol. I’m not looking for a specific genre. Just books that really explore women’s issues, I guess.
