I’m gonna be in rehab for the next 20 days or so. I’m looking for classic recs, short story collections, and contemporary fiction recs. I’ve been here a week now and i’ve read two books: We have always lived in a castle by Shirley Jackson and Earthlings by Sayaka Murata. I enjoyed both a lot and it made me want to read more classic literature like that, I want something that is easily digestible and preferably from the 20th century because i find that it’s easier for me to actually finish and understand the book. I also like Japanese fiction a lot and am currently reading Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata which i’m enjoying. My favorite recent reads are The Guest by Emma Cline, Bliss Montage by Ling Ma, and Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid. I’d also like a couple nonfiction reads that aren’t long and learning about some interesting niche topic.

If you like ebooks, Project Gutenberg website has over 70 000 books waiting for you. They are all older and out of copyright – unless author has given permission to publish it there
