Hi,
I am currently looking for a complex book that isn't a "classic".
Books/Series I Loved:
– A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin (love the complexity, magic, and unpredictability)
– Children of Earth by Jane Aurelia
– Joona Linna Series by Lars Kepler
– Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
– The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
– Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith
Children's Books I Enjoyed:
– Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
– Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
– The Selection series by Kiera Cass
I really appreciate books with a certain degree of unpredictability and complex characters that aren't strictly good or bad. And the story has to be more paced. For example, The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza felt too long for the plot.
Books I Didn't Really Like:
– Eragon series
– The Lord of the Rings series
– The Da Vinci Code
Any ideas?
