I’m looking for a book that is based around survival, like Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, or something in the realm of The Long Dark the video game or Castaway with Tom hanks. Any suggestions would be great thank you.

I’ve been recommending this for a bit. True ocean survival tale that’s pretty extraordinary. I saw the film based on it first (Against the Sun) and got the book because I didn’t believe it was all true. I was surprised to find that it was very close to the real story which is extraordinary.

The Cay by Theodore Taylor! It’s about a young boy and an old man who get stranded on an island together. I remember it having an important message about racism/prejudice too. Beautiful read
