I understand that this is a very niche, and specific request. As a child, I greatly enjoyed Chris Van Allsburg's books as a child. I really love how he his such a distinctive dream-like vibe. Does anybody have a recommendation for some adult fiction that has this feel?

- themes and plot lines that straddle the line of realism and the surreal.
- Detailed, evocative descriptions that pull you into the world of the story.
