Currently I am pursuing my major in English literature. I would like you to suggest me some books that according to you a literature major should read or be aware of. This is going to be my reading list so I would suggest you to let me know as many as u can think of and are worthy in your opinion.

There is no guide to “books that should be read by an english major” but in case you are confused which ones to start from..you might try different genres books so that you discover the genre which is fit for you whether you like classics or thriller or rom-coms,etc.But I would suggest you to start from books of authors like agatha christie,jane austen,charles dickinson,arthur conan doyle,etc,etc.You can read The great gatsby,kite runner,emma and many more. There are possibilities you might not like them but atleast it will help you in understanding what genre suits you.
