Hello, asking for books like that but with actual nuanced writing, doesn't read like an academic article and has characters that isnt flat. I DNF'ed the book so I'm here trying to look for something like it. 🥲

I mean, which part of it did you want? Academic feeling? General dark academia setting? Magic? Historical? Historical with magic?
