I have recently finished reading Tara Westover’s Educated, which is an autobiography of a woman who grew up in a Mormon family. She doesn’t criticise it and she also doesn’t romanticise it. Despite it being more so about her path to education and the modern world, it also gave an insight into Mormon lifestyle.
I was wondering if there is anything similar, like an autobiography (I.e. I want something non-fictional), about Amish lifestyle? Doesn’t have to be an inspirational story, but bonus points if the author doesn’t live the Amish lifestyle anymore and can reflect on it from a modern point of view, but it’s fine if not. More curious about their lifestyle as such.
