i’m currently nearing the end of the priory of the orange tree, which got me out of a massive reading slump. i’ve wanted to get into high fantasy for years, but thought i just didn’t have enough of an attention span. priory thankfully proved me wrong, so i will definitely also be reading the prequel. as for other books, i’d prefer something that has similar elements to priory of complex political systems, religions, cultures etc, female main character(s), romance that is well-written but not the centerpiece of the plot, and it’s set in an older-style world (medieval or earlier). essentially looking for ASOIAF but with more women and less sexual violence
