I feel like these posts pop a lot in music subs—"rec me a band that has under 100 subscribers"—or similar, but not often in in book subs.
I recently read a book by an old, old friend and a book by a family-member-by-marriage and while neither of them were perfect, I genuinely enjoyed both and think many other people would too.
So I'm looking for your "Well my brother/mum/best mate/colleague/grandpa/whatever wrote this, but it's genuinely good" recs.
