I always have to look up trigger warnings for books. And it ends up eliminating a lot of things. I don't like any SA, domestic violence, child abuse, or just anything described along the lines of: "heart wrenching", "beautifully gloomy", "tragic", " poignant" etc…. I feel like by the time I have sorted thru trigger warnings to find something, I could have read at least half a book. I think the tricky part, is that I love the historical fiction, imaginative retellings of mythology, fantasy, biography. I can handle violence, for example I loved The Witcher series until the last book, because it's typically people fighting equally and not hurting innocent people, children and/or raping/assualting women. I don't know how to describe how I see the difference. It's not graphic graphic violence and abuse just for the sake of it. I hope someone understands what I am trying to say. I have yet to successfully explain the difference to my husband, so I'm hoping Internet strangers understand me better hahaha
