I just saw the post about non-fiction book recommendations and found some great stuff in there!

That post was history/disaster-related. So I was wondering if anyone had any more general recommendations? Any topic really, as long as you found it deeply interesting or rivetting!

Feel free to post any books, but if it made for a great audiobook experience, I am especially interested!

    1. How the Brain Lost Its Mind: Sex, Hysteria, and the Riddle of Mental Illness

Book by Allan Ropper and Brian Burrell

It was an experience I’d really like to repeat

    2. The Land of Open Graves: Living and Dying on the Migrant Trail, by Jason De Leon.

Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea, by Barbara Demick

These are two of the most interesting non-fiction audiobooks I’ve listened to!

    3. I usually have trouble paying attention to audio books, but I didn’t have that problem with *The First Ghosts* by Irving Finkel. It’s a history of the belief in ghosts and superstitions around death across different cultures.
