Latin American and Spanish literature

What Spanish or Latin American authors (or work) you recommend that fall under the following criteria:

• you love the author or the work so much.
• lacks recognition/is quite an obscure, non-mainstream choice.
• doesn’t have much academic literature written about it but definitely deserves so much more.

Your suggestions can be prose, poetry, theatre, anything (so long as it falls under literature)!
