I’m doing a reading challenge where I read a memoir of growing up in different countries. However, I’ve expanded this challenge to Dependent/ partially recognized states. Ex: French Polynesia, Cook Islands, etc.
I am also open to histories or biographies of people, or a culture/ anthology collection. It can literally be anywhere, disputed territories, unrecognized, anywhere. I am not planning on avoiding any country even if there is an ongoing conflict- I just want to read stories of people who lived through incredible circumstances.
I prefer particularly hard situations/ growing up through harsh events or situations. I’ve already read USA, Afghanistan, North Korea, Zambia, Sierra Leone, France, and Rwanda. Looking for any countries and doesn’t have to be about a war specifically just prefer the author be from/ grow up in that country.
