I’m currently in the middle of “Evicted”(Matthew Desmond) and can’t put it down. I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed “Warmth of Other Suns”(Isabel Wilkerson), “The Turnaway Study”(Diana Foster), and “The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee”(David Treuer).
The personal stories really drive home key points and takeaways while also inviting an understanding of nuance and the messy complexities of real life. Narratives keep the book moving along and interesting all while effectively educating the reader on important history, social constructs, etc.
Any thoughts and/or recommendations for similar books?
