This is tough: Trying to find something very short, very easy to read, and very entertaining to get a Sri Lankan grandmother open to the idea of reading fiction as a pass time.

Definitely should not be anything heady or literary or science fiction or fantasy or overly raunchy/dirty.

Should be: short, fun, and entertaining, and preferably fiction. Ideal scenario would be something very short that's a page-turning family drama or family comedy. Anything to do with parenting or grandparenting or couples or families would probably work great.

She loves movies like My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Mamma Mia, comedies starring Julia Roberts and Steve Martin and Martin Short, TV shows like Big Bang Theory and American Idol, and mobile games like Tetris and Candy Crush.

It's a tall order, and probably different from what most people look for and read in this sub, but thought it was worth a try. Any suggestions? And thanks in advance!
