I've seen posts and comments where people wrote that they cried at the end of this book, but it scared me.
Most of the time, the main character Charlie gets smart because of the experiment. He learns, learns about punctuation, and learns several languages. In the end, he degrades in a few pages and becomes the same feeble-minded guy again as at the beginning.
It's just scary that you can study all your life and then at some point in time gradually start to forget everything you've learned. After all, there are real diseases associated with the brain, Dementia, for example. And it's scary.

I remember reading that in elementary school. It’s been a while since I’ve read it but the degradation is crazy. It’s really scary. And it’s like you said, you work so hard and at some point it all vanishes. You lose everything in the end.
