Books on how to be assertive and level headed and can make a decision without being indecisive all the time

Please help me on this, most of my major life decisions were made by my parents andnow I’m confused on every decision I make and keeping thinking of all the possible decisions and which would suit others rather than me, i am shopping unnecessary things and avoiding decisions to not to feel stupid.
