I mean book which belongs to pulpy book category (crime fiction, fantasy, sci fi) which essentially is thought to have lower quality. But book has some really important societal messages to tell on wide ranging topics. This question came to my mind when I read about this japanese crime fiction book which talked about mistreatment of workers.

Broken Wings by L J Baker — A novel from the fantasy romance genre, which is generally seen as the lowest of the low for genre fiction. The plot addresses racism, immigration, trauma, and the complexities of cross-class relationships. It’s about an illegal refugee from a totalitarian state, who falls in love with a wealthy artist.
