looking for books with a yearning/desperate/obsessive summer vibe maybe sort of a bit dark i have no idea if my words make sense

i have no idea how to describe what im looking for, but a im looking for a book similar to Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth. i loved the prose and the sort of summer desperation thing but to me there was a sadder, mundane undertone when describing the irish small town. i would love great prose and if the book leaves me feeling sorta empty at the end. lmk if any of this makes sense lol!
