If it has romance so be it, but I want to read something that makes me sit and think when I finish. Some recent books that made me feel that way were Severance by Ling Ma, A Certain Hunger by Chelsea Summers, Dead Poets Society, Parable of the Sower, and the Vegetarian by Han Kang.
I’m struggling to find books like this on prime reading and have basically resigned to just my local library for now

Try ‘The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao’ by Junot Díaz for a thought-provoking read.
