My friend is having her farewell next week from a job she’s been working for 10 years. She even trained me when I was a newbie. I was trying to get her a gift and because she recently developed a love for books I thought that it would be a great gift for her. The problem is that I very specifically read cozy mystery books and things like good omens, disc-world or hitchhikers guide etc. which are totally not the types of books she likes. She’s really into colleen hoover books, and whilst I’m not a huge fan the fact that her books got her reading more is huge. I was looking for recommendations for books that have similar vibes, easily accessible, but offer something less toxic. She also said that she specifically loved the thriller and mystery aspects of some of her books a bit more than the romance. So is there a book or author that you recommend that:
– is an easy read
– has thriller or mystery elements
– has a fair bit of romance
– isn’t glorifying toxic relationships
– would entice a Colleen Hoover reader.
– wouldn’t be weird if I gave her it as a gift. (I.e shouldn’t be too smutty)
