I haven’t enjoyed reading since middle school, and I want to start again to try to stop my addiction with my phone. I want to read classic novels, I think that’s my best bet to read something I will enjoy compared to take a chance on a not so popular book. It’s also a good conversation starter. I’m not a huge fan of fantasy. Any suggestions?
The two big ones I’ve already read is The Great Gatsby and To Kill A Mockingbird.

Kite Runner! Not technically a classic, maybe a modern classic. I have recommended this book to 2 friends who haven’t read since school, and they BOTH finished the book in less than a week. Neither of them could put it down. It is gripping, I really think you’ll enjoy it. Happy reading!
You might like Lord of the Flies – definitely dark, but it’s on the short side and moves, so it might be a good starter.
