Suggest me a book! Into horror, mystery, and psychological thriller kinds of stories. Ones where is an ‘eerie’ vibe to it.

I’m 17 and haven’t really read any books since I was maybe around 12 but I genuinely want to start reading again.
I’ve been suggested books like gone girl and sharp objects which I haven’t read yet but definitely is something I am hugely interested in. I love eerie story lines with plot twists that surprise you and keep you on edge.
Even crime, or law or anything of that sort is great. Just not a huge fan of books that have a historical setting to it. I prefer more modern settings.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
