Are there any books worth giving to teenagers that’s not a self-help book but something they might enjoy? She likes anime and 15-16 yo. Any suggestions are helpful

A Wizard of Earthsea is the best young adult novel, I think, though it’s more actual reading than a manga/light novel so idk since you didn’t specify how prolific a reader she is.

    2. Could anime be a way into Japanese novels? If you think that might be possible, Banana Yoshimoto has a sweetness and strangeness that usually resonate well with young adults. *Lonely Castle in the Mirror* by Mizuki Tsujimura is a lovely novel of self discovery and acceptance about a teen-aged girl in Tokyo.
