Just read A Song of Ice and Fire for the first time. First of all, wow. Second of all, GRRM please release book 6.
In the meantime I’m looking for another fantasy series that captures the same feeling as the political aspect of ASOIAF since I loved that part of the series so much.
I’m not a massive fantasy reader so there are probably a lot of really obvious choices for this that I’m unaware of.

First Law has a pretty similar vibe to ASOIAF
The Masquerade series by Seth Dickinson — A high fantasy world with very limited magic. Focused almost exclusively on politics and spycraft. The primary protagonist is an accountant trying to bring down an empire from within at the cost of everything and everyone she’s ever loved.
