I recently read Srinath Raghavan's 1971: A global history of the creation of Bangladesh. What really appealed to me was the diplomatic tussle between all of the local and global powers involved for the sake of their own benefit.
I also read a book relating to Balfour declaration a while back (forgot its name) and that was about the various factors which led to the British government declaring the mandate of Palestine for its own sake.
In short, what I want are history books where high-level leaders engage in high-level geopolitical power struggles (not internal power struggles) and deal with the unexpected situations around them.
All recommendations would be well appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
