Hi, I just read The Boys in the Boat and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was my first nonfiction book that I haven’t read for school or because I had to for some reason, and I feel like I’m ready to start dabbling in more nonfiction. I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations of interesting nonfiction books where we follow one (or a few) main characters. I really enjoyed how the story was from Joe’s perspective and the reader wasn’t being lectured at, just taken along for the ride.
I am down to learn about anyone in any situation during any time, as long as the story is captivating. I would prefer for it not to be heavily depressing, however, I cry while reading most books so that criteria isn’t too strict lol.
Thank you so much!!

More historical semi-fiction….
If you want to learn about the Tudors, Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy will take you there.
The Sympathizer (now a streaming series) will take you to Vietnam.
