I’ve recently took up reading as a hobby and have only read a handful of books, one of which being 1984 by George Orwell which left me wanting more. Any suggestions for a book of similar themes/ideas to have a look at? Cheers.
If you just read and liked 1984, maybe try Animal Farm by George Orwell?
I’m a huge 1984 fan and just read “Julia” by Sandra Newman – a recently punished novel telling the same story but from Julia’s point of view. I loved it!
Or maybe another classic dystopian novel like “brave new world”?

*Anthem* by Ayn Rand also has themes of breaking free from groupthink in a controlling regime. Plus, it’s around 100 pages, so it goes quick.
(If you don’t like Ayn Rand in general, this one is different enough from her other work that the friend who got me to read it said he hates Ayn Rand but loves this book. I’ve Dnf’ed her work in the past, and I also enjoyed this one.)
