I love a fast paced book bc sometimes i get bored when it takes forever to get to the point. Any genre is fine except romance (im totally fine with a romance sub plot)
*Railsea* by China Mieville if you want something fast moving but still a little elevated.
*Spook* by Mary Roach is good nonfiction if you’re interested in ghosts at all.
Stephen King has been a stalwart for new readers for half a century. *The Dark Tower* and *The Stand* get right into it, though can be a bit daunting for their length. *The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon* is more approachable in terms of length.
Also check out anthologies and short story collections. They don’t have time to beat around the bush, stories get to the point quicker.

Try Matthew Reilly. Non-stop action from beginning to end.
