I always go to the John Corey series by Nelson Demille when I need to just have something easy to get into that is entertaining without being complete trash. Try his book “Plum Island”. Don Winslow’s “Power Of The Dog” is also grippingly well written. The prose is so brutally confident and focused that it carries you through the whole story.
