I'm 16M and hella lonely. I'm someone you'd call 'depressed' and 'under confident'. I need self help book suggestions to boast up my thoughts, personality and the way I see myself. Thank you!

in highschool I read Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed and I remember it having a very large impact on me. It’s been a long while since I’ve opened it up, but I remember being almost cracked open and exposed in a raw and healthy way seeing the author connect with people seeking advice with her own vulnerable stories. At that time in my life, I’d never seen stories about adults (I read this at 17) struggling with more than surface level bullshit (unless it was in a movie), so seeing real people of various ages dealing with all kinds of shit really helped motivate me to work on myself to become who I wanted to be.
I also found reading fictional books about teens in realistic settings helped me see my own life from a more objective place, and thus I could consider what I might want to do to be more like or less like the characters I wanted to emulate.

Do you have any particular interests or hobbies or subjects you like? Sometimes it can be inspirational and give positive vibes to read biographies or autobiographies of people related to things you are interested in!
