listen. i'm picky. i know i am. but i'm so tired of modern werewolf literature that boils down to "sexually attractive people have hot sexual tension and then maybe get together in the end".
i've read Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones, Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison, and I played this interactive novel called Bloodmoon that's one of my all-time favorites.
I tried to read the Mercy Thompson series and just had to stop because of the aforementioned "hot people boning sexual tension all the time" issue, and also the weird and uncomfortable (for me) patriarchal werewolves with outdated concepts about Alpha/Omega/whatever.
Please. Please recommend me good werewolf books. I like them best when the werewolves aren't just mindless monsters for the hero to defeat, but at this point I'm willing to humor almost anything.
